In this discussion you are going to be understanding the concepts of Associative Learning. Pioneered by Ivan Pavlov in the late 1800s this was a type of primitive learning that can be applied to a large portion of life on earth. B.F Skinner showed us that through the process of Operant Conditioning, we humans are ‘conditioned’ through rewards and punishments. Make sure you read the slides and book on Operant and Classical Conditioning before completing this discussion.
1. Using classical Conditioning method. Describe to me how you would ‘teach’ a pet a new trick. What kind of trick is it? What kind of pet? Make sure to describe the Unconditioned Stimulus, Unconditioned response, the neutral stimulus and the resulting conditioned response.
2. How was this used on you as a kid? can you remember something in your life that you were "conditioned" to do by your family/parents? This happened to practically everyone as a kid.
